Spring Anime Review – Part 1

New animes. It’s around this time of the year when the shows at Japan start to release new clean animes to the public. The only problem is, what anime to watch and what is just basically, trash. Long term animes which are still airing like Bleach, Naruto, Death Note and D-Gray.Man are still hot right now but how about those which are new to the market. We all face the

problem of watching something which looks good but ended up a smack to the face for crappiness. Recently I didn’t want to review on some animes because they where only like 2-3 episode but after a month I think it’s about time as you would be able to see thier true colors.

Anime:
Hayate no Gotoku! 「ハヤテのごとく!」/Hayate the Combat Butler
OP: 「ハヤテのごとく!」 (Hayate no Gotoku!) by KOTOKO
ED: 「Proof」 by MELL
Synopsis:

Hayate is an ordinary kid who tries his very best to make a living as he comes from a very poor house hold. The reason for this is that his parents do not believe in work and life should live free of money, so they said. So Hayate has to hide the secret that he is still in high school and tries to take up any adult jobs in town. But whenever he finds a job, he parents would ruin everything and ends up taking his money.

Luck happens to pay a big roll in Hayate as he has one of the worst luck anyone ever has. Due to this he has built up his body to do extraordinary abilities that no normal person is able to handle.

After losing another job, Hayate finds himself in a worst scenario where his parents have borrowed some (more like a lot) money (156,804,000 Yen) from the mafia and he was given the responsibility to payback the money owed as a Christmas Gift. Because of this he resolves to being a kidnapper but failed as the ‘victim’ turn into some he had to save later from another kidnapper.

The ‘victim’ Nagi Sanzenin comes from a very rich family whom has always been a victim of kidnappings. Hayate then uses his extraordinary human abilities to save Nagi as he did and later begs Nagi for a job.

And so Hayate was employed as Nagi’s butler and protector.

Thoughts:
This anime is really good for laughs at times. I like the censorship part. It really cracks me up when the guy appears out of nowhere and give a note. I thought it was going to be something like Mahoromatic but truth is, it’s different. So who wants a talking albino tiger…tell me, I would…haha.

Rating: 4/5

Anime: Lucky ☆ Star 「らき☆すた」
OP: 「もってけ! セーラーふく」 (Motteke! Serafuku) by 平野綾 (Hirano Aya), 加藤英美里 (Katou Emiri), 福原香織 (Fukuhara Kaori), and 遠藤綾 (Endou Aya)
Synopsis:
Meet the everyday life of zero logical conversation of high school girls. Konota is an Otaku who thinks nothing but animes and video games. Miyuki is a adorable girl and is almost a bit to perfect but everyday she faces a dilemma whether to get contacts to replace her glasses. Tsukasa and Kagami are twin sister (non identical) who hangs out with Konota for conversations.

Never forget to watch the Lucky Channel where fans can write in and ask questions.

Thoughts:
I guess if it wasn’t for the hype of Hirano Aya I may not watch this anime. Well it does gives you something to think about at times and also wonder is girls really think like so.

Other than that the Lucky Channel happens to be the best part of the anime. Who gets to see the host have a change of personality, if that happens on real time television I’m gonna laugh my guts out.

Rating: 3.5/5

Anime:
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS 「魔法少女リリカルなのはStrikerS」
OP: Secret Ambition by Nana Mizuki
ED: Hoshizora no Spica by Yukari Tamura
Synopsis:
10 years after Nonoha A’s the girls are back and grown up. Nanoha; a combat instructor, Fate; a special Investigator, and Hayate; a commanding officer, have come together to form a team in order to save the world from being attacked by forces of evil.

Introducing a new a mahou team, Subaru, Tiana, Carol and Elio who will go under Nanoha and Fate’s guidance in order to keep the peace of the magical dimension.

Thoughts:
We love our lolis but every loli has to grow up someday and looks like they turn into lesbians. I previously like the other version as it did have the Card Capture Sakura style but now it’s a totally new image. More or less like Mai Hime type action.

People have been going around saying this anime was bad, and yeah I fail to say this but it’s really quite true. The voice characters don’t sound right with the mature looks and well they should have did some look improvement on Nanoha in her mage mode.

Rating: 2/5

Anime:
Shining Tears x Wind 「シャイニング・ティアーズ・クロス・ウィンド」
OP:
Shining Tears 「シャイニング・ティアーズ・クロス・ウィンド」 by Souichiro Hoshi

Souma and Kuraha then meets Zero in and alternate dimension where he then tells them that the fate of the world lies in thier hands and in other to go back they have to stop the evil from spreading.

Thoughts:
I have been waiting for the release of this anime for a long long time. T2 Tony artwork rocks! And to make a PS2 game come to life, sweet. What’s more cool is that I finally get to see home hot babes in action. Ryuna, Elwing, Mao and my favourite Neige Blanc.

What more can I ask for?

Rating: 4/5

Anime:
Seto no Hanayome 「瀬戸の花嫁」
OP:
Romatic Summer by Sun & Lunar
ED:
Ashitae no Hikari by Asuka Hinoi
Synopsis:
Nagasumi and his family goes down for the summer holiday to visit his grandmother. His family decides to go for a swim at the beach but soon later Nagasumi find himself drowning after experiencing leg cramp. He later saw a vision of a mermaid saving him and later ends up finding himself on land. He tells his family about what he saw but they didn’t believe his fables.

Soon later a girl by the name of San, appeared in front of the household and requested that Nagasumi is to marry her or face the consequences. San happens to be a daughter of a Yakuza who controls the sea, mermaid mafia. So Nagasumi has no chocie or his head is going to be shark’s bait to San’s father.

Thoughts:
A vey very funny anime. Good for laughs and yeah it’s kinda like watching my wife is a gangster (korean movie) and Mikey Blue Eyes. I really do wanna see how the story goes as Nagasumi is going to face a lot of challenges just being married to a mermaid. So anyone wanna hook up with a blood trusty head mafia’s daughter?

Rating: 4/5

Anime:
Claymore 「クレイモア」

Due to the help of Claymore Clare, he tries his best to help out Clare in anyway for avenging him. He is then ask to be Clare’s cook as they journey around the country, exterminating Yomas.

Thoughts:
If there’s any good anime out there to watch I say this happens to be on the top fo the list. If you like something from the old age and demon killing I think this would be what you need for your dose of anime lust. It has a mixture of some sort of Blood+ and Fate/Stay Night. A must watch for those who just love thriller stuff.

Rating: 5/5

Anime:
Lovely Complex 「ラブ★コン」
OP: Kimi + Boku = Love? by Tegomass
ED: Kiss ~ Kaerimichi no Love Song by Tegomass

Koizumi Risa and Otani Atsushi are the two laughing stock of the class as everything they do is almost synchronize. Only thing that is wrong with this picture is that Risa happens to be 170cm for a GIRL! While Otani is at 156cm for a guy. Even though they always end up making fun and going at it which each other they are still the best of friends.

Thoughts:
The first episode tho this just cracks me up. A very nice romantic/comedy flick which just can’t get you to sit right. I totally love they humor. A must watch!

Rating: 4.5/5

Anime:
Kaze no Stigma 「風のスティグマ」
OP: Blast of wind by Saori Kiuji
ED: Hitorikiri no Sora by Saori Kiuji

The Kannagi clan is one blessed by the Spirits of the Flame and capable of mastering the En-Jutsu, which involves the manipulation of fire in combat. But one of its heirs from the main family, Kannagi Kazuma, had no talent when it came to this technique. He was easily defeated by his cousin Ayano with a single attack in the ceremony to determine the family’s successor and shamefully banished from the Kannagi clan.

Four years later Kazuma resurfaced, having taken the new surname of Yagami and having mastered the Fuu-Jutsu, which involves the manipulation of the wind. It doesn’t take long for the Kannagi clan to learn of this development, but suddenly three of its members are murdered in their own house. All clues indicate that the killer was one skilled in the use of Fuu-Jutsu, and there is only one known to bear a grudge to the Kannagi: Kazuma. Because of this a battle between users of fire and users of the wind is about to break out, even though Kazuma knows himself to be innocent.

Thoughts:
Something like Shakuyan no Shana but has that Naruto clan vs clan thingi. It’s an alright anime to watch. Some action here and there but I have to see how the story goes.

Rating: 3/5

Anime:
iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia 「アイドルマスターXENOGLOSSIA (ゼノグラシア)」
OP: Binetsu S.O.S!! by Miyuki Hashimoto
ED: Yuukyuu no Tabibito~Dear boy by Snow*

When auditions for the iDOLM@STER Project came to her town, Amami Haruka participated and was among the chosen ones to go to an special Academy in Tokyo, where Haruka thinks she can become an entertainer or idol, even though she has her hesitations.

As she and her new friend Yukiho wander around, lost in Tokyo, they witness the launch of an iDOL and encounter a girl who beckons Haruka to go with her. At the same time the machine Prometheus 1 launches from its iDOL hangar to where Haruka is. Although she doesn’t know it yet, Haruka has stepped into a new life that she had never before imagined.

Thoughts:
Very Mai Hime type of anime. But I quite like the story a bit but the mecha looks a bit crappy for my taste. I really had nothign else to watch but not to say that this is a bad anime but if you have nothing else to catch then maybe you could try this one out.

Rating: 2.5/5

Anime:
Kiss Dum: Engage Planet 「キスダム -ENGAGE planet-」
OP: Jikuu o Koete by II Mix Delta
ED: Kimi ga Iru Kagiri by Stephanie

The year is 2031. Humanity has kept on prospering, but times are about to change. The Book of the Dead, a mysterious and powerful artifact, has appeared at the bottom of the ocean, causing mutations in the sea life, and swarms of large insects all over the planet. As an investigation team is about to find the Book itself the swarms suddenly converge, transporting gigantic and aggressive mutated creatures to places all over the world, and despite resistance efforts, the situation seems hopeless.

Rukina Yuno, Chief of the investigation team, tries to escape with the Book in her custody, fearing the use that her superiors will give it. Branded a traitor, she accidentally stumbles upon her lover, the pilot Aiba Shu, who is severely injured while trying to protect her. Seeing no other choice, Yuno uses the book to save Shu’s life. As light envelops Shu, he awakens to the word “Necrodiver”…

Thoughts:
Something to look forward too. Kinda have the mix of Sousei no Aquarion and Eureka mix. the thing I like about this they don’t force out overpowered mecha and it’s quite original where it shows the technology we have today to overcome such threat. Yeah we are weak if a war like this ever happens. Hopefully it turns out great in the episodes to come.

Anime:
Nagasarete Airantou 「ながされて藍蘭島」
OP: Days by Horie Yui
ED: Say Cheese! by Horie Yui

Thoughts:
How can it get this great, stuck in an island with women. Okey some fat and ugl but who gives a shit as long as there’s more pretty women who wanna have a go at you. Oh Yeah! Lots of cute action and bizzare stuff to look forward for so do catch this one.
