Looks like I still haven’t had enough of May’n fever, this time with her Sheryl Nome counterpart in Macross Frontier Movie album cover entitled Gekijouban Macross F -Itsuwari no Utahime- Insert Songs Album – Universal Bunny. I’ve been listening to both Styles and Universal Bunny album and I could picture back her concert and dance on stage. I really love her tracks here as it was more Anisong style.
Just got my copy of May’n First Full Album cover called Styles today. I’m pretty sure Bagman will be dieing to get it later on in the mailbox. There are many new tracks inside which I recently got to hear them live at AFA09 on the weekend in Singapore. Well compared to her previous Mini Album this was more to original style of May’n. The only anime like tracks in this album is are Kimi Shinitamou Koto Nakare (OP theme SHANGRI-LA) and Welcome To My FanClub’s Night! -Styles version- (OST Macross Frontier). Surprisingly Pink Monsoon wasn’t included maybe because it was produced earlier and specifically for the new Macross Frontier Movie:The False Songstress (Diva) which is out in cinemas throughout Japan.
One of the highlights of AFA09 this year, Yoshiki Fukuyama, member and guitarist of the famous JAM Project and also lead singer for Macross 7 comes to Singapore for the first time while May’n/Sheryl Nome is back once again to AFA, Singapore for a second year running to perform at AFA09 I LOVE Anisong, Suntec City CC. I was actually persuade to buy the front tickets by my friend because he was a seriously huge fan of both. I’m not quite a big fan but they are my favourite artist in the anisong industry. For me May’n was more of my choice while Fukuyama gave me a very nostalgic feeling.
May’n (May Nakabayashi/中林 芽依), well known as Sheryl Nome – Songstress of the Galaxy – from the popular anime series Macross Frontier turns 20 today. On the weekend she was doing a performance for the Macross Crossover LIVE and sang all the songs for Macross F and also the new single for the upcoming movie in November entitled pink monsoon. What’s cool is that the single was released on sale on her birthday so it makes a great event for her to remember.
The Macross Frontier series will hit the movie screens in Japan which will be compiling the full 25 episodes. Due to release in November 2009, we’re gonna have some extra footage and also new songs by Sheryl Nome/May’n and Ranka Lee/Megumi Nakajima. Also confirmed, is the second movie so there’s gonna be 2 movie release. Macross Frontier marks 25th Anniversary for Studio Nue. Can’t wait to listen to the tracks as I really love the songs done in the Macross franchise.
I usually don’t travel to the same country twice a year unless it’s for studies or pratically I’m living in between two countries but this year I went down to Singapore for the second time was to catch May’n Live. Since I am a big fan of Macross Saga, Macross Frontier caught my attention with it’s new storyline, mechas and songs. My most favourite song in the series was Diamond Crevasse which was perform by May’n for the voice over for teh character Sheryl Nome. This song touched my heart that at times I would be in tears just listening to it and the day May’n perform the song it was simply electrifying. Truthfully speaking I rarely came close to attending a Japanese concert and this was the closest I got to. The crowd, Simply amazing.
